Describe for me a moment at which you felt most like a lolita. Whether you were actually dressed in lolita is irrelevant. Something you did or happened to you that you felt really captured the spirit of lolita. I was considering this recently and I realized that I had a moment that had nothing to do with the actual clothing of lolita but made me feel like I truly ws a lolita whether I happened to be dressed as one or not.
I was taking a tour of Europe and was currently in a town in the French Alps. It was very hilly. I was traveling with a tour group and one of the others in our group was in a wheel chair. The hill quickly became too steep for him to get up on his own. So I says to him 'I'll give you a shove!' and I started pushing him up the hill much too quickly. The others in the group were laughing and running after us. the innocence and the fun and laughter of it all made me feel like a lolita. Running and screaming and laughing was just such a beautiful experience. I will never forget it as long as I live. It seems insignificant but there you go. =D
So describe for me a time when you felt beautiful and innocent.

Yuna and Penelo are so sweet, and Nozomu is.... ...Nozomu, so I wanted someone full of snark and sass, and listening to enough Wicked does that to you. She's a meld of Musical!Wicked and Novel!Wicked. And as it turns out, we have a Glinda too! And she's adorable, so this will be fun times! I need to push Yuna out from wherever she's been hiding, and Annay, I can't wait for our plot with Nozomu. >83
Let's see. I have work today. But! Right now I'm sewing for Odette and the crew! I was hitting a wall with my cosplay, so I'm taking a break to sew doll clothes. Odette first, because she deserves some new clothes. My whole crew is due for it. The big guys didn't even get new clothes when they came to SCAD. NEW CLOTHES TIEM. Fay needs a new wig, too, but right now, cons are taking precedent. As soon as that's over, though, time for a new wig! I'm considering a new one for Laksha, too, since it's just... always in her face and being unbrushable. I need to start pinning her hair back again, it looks cute like that. OH, speaking of. I'm considering getting a white/blonde or very pale pink mohair wig for Odette. I love mohair wigs, and white/blonde is Odette's NATURAL color! GASP! I looove Odette's bright candy-colors and wouldn't give them up for anything as her default... But sometimes for more toned-down outfits, or if I'm sewing for commission or something, her bright blue or pink just... looks too bright for the outfit. So, using whispy mohair might be better. Besides. Odette would look PRECIOUS with a big pouf of hair. X3 Big eyes, big hair. It'd be adorable. XD I need to work on more genuine Decora outfits for Odette. It's hard to find teeny to-scale plastic beads.
I have an idea for Creven's outfit too, but I need to get the big guys new shoes first! I found two pairs on eBay that I'm gonna get for them, hopefully in time for the annual EPIC MEET AT LILLY'S HOUSE in Early August. MY DOLLS WILL BE RIGHTFULLY SPOILED. WOO!
Alright. Now. Back to work... Then MOAR work! YAY.

I've just packed Kael and Mai up into their boxes to see how I feel about them not being around.
I've talked about selling them before because they don't get any attention but on top of that I think I've determined that I'm far more keen on SD as opposed to MSD size wise. The minifees, as pretty as they are just don't fit in with the rest of my guys.
So yeah, I thought I'd post this here (and on NoB) before DoA because I'd rather give first dibs to those that have expressed interest in them or I know will take good care of them ^^
This is still a feeler because since I'm not 100% sure yet but price wise I think I'd be looking to get around $450 for them separately or $750 if they went as a pair, baring in mind they are long sold out limiteds and both have gorgeous CrossPistols/Lynsey face ups...

Riiiiiiight, update that never comes often enough or frequent because I am quite possibly a bigger jerk and prick than I like to admit to myself but pffftttt.
I now work about 3 or so days a week on 7 hour + shifts, part time. Which is actually pretty enjoyable save that it kills the absolute shite out of my feet, because we're standing all that time. And when old ladies prattle on in dialect about dramas DX man I dun do the drama serials thang, I'm no help there. And I as usual forget to eat when I get caught up in something. So, own idiocy resulted in my stumbling home at 10 something Friday night after a 10 hour workday, with a headache moving into migraine-territory and very nearly throwing up in some random bunch of scrub by the neighbour's (wouldn't that be fun.) Hot soup and getting fresh air helped fix. As did the fairly long sleep, but I'll not understand what possessed me to wake up at 5.30 am Saturday morning. Granted, later I remembered that bro had badminton, though that was a good 4 and a half hours later so logically, no reason to be up at the asscrack of dawn...
Glee, fun, and all that. Yes, yes, arch support, more water, remember to eat, eat healthy I will do that. Promise rly rly. ♥
I have photos of Aiden and Christian. Those will... get processed and posted when my slacker self gets into gear.
Besides the part-time job, it's the usual housewife-y stuff. Nothing new there. The garden is actually looking quite pretty, but the lil babies need checking up. The strawberries went to mush on the stalk, which was sad, but as it is very not their season, no big loss. I just hope they were not turned to mulch with the seeds still on them...
Am enjoying WoW. Have a level... 18 human warlock and! Someone gunna come down on my head for this one, but I started a NE druid who's now at level 10. XD she's quite amazing. Played, finished, and packed away F.E.A.R: Perseus Mandate+3 bonus missions. Very much less wtf in terms of story as compared to F.E.A.R 1+2, but you could spot the storyline from a mile away. Still was fun though. A little sad at the end. And a serious tonne more of enemies to have to get by, very nerve-wracking especially if you happen to do like I do and play at night, with headphones on. Sorta want SC:2. Buuuuut. Dem Hydralisks and Mutalisks jus' dun look da same in their prettified new selves >:
Celeste, meetup = when I have no idea D: If my shifts for next week are the same, I def. won't have Tues/Weds/Fri free. But I'll let you know the timetable.

So. Emil got his wig yesterday finally.
And it's funny. In RL it looks pinkish to me, but on photos - it's just the perfect shade. O_o
Weird!!!
Anyway, the wig is love. And it suits Emil just perfect! His other clothes and (finally) shoes will arrive Monday. Can't wait to take a full-height picture of him~~~

An entire month since I placed my order with Luts. I can't say the wait has been particularly tortous if I'm honest, although I have displayed an ungodly amount of impatience... with much foot stompings and shouts of "I WANT MY DOLLY"
According to Luts reckoning I have about 3-4 weeks wait, plus shipping time.... so I kind of bought a PSP and Crisis Core to see me through the wait..... I really must have more money than sense o__O

I've been a member of this community for a while now, but I always shy away from commenting. Yet my current problem requires experienced lolita advice, and all of you wonderful lolitas are the only ones that can help!
My problems are the following:
I've been fascinated with the Lolita style since I bought Gothic & Lolita, FRUITS and MORE FRUITS at a local bookstore. Now I finally have saved up enough money to buy/make my first lolita dress! But I am a bit confused by the Japanese sizing charts— I'm 5'1" (1.55m) and 100lbs (45.36kgs)— so I don't know what would fit me. I've also been told that I am not the right size/weight for lolita. This is right?
My other issue is my hair. I have a heart-shaped face and due to being Latina, my hair is thick and wavy. It is currently short, yet I don't know whether I should grow it out and go for the 'Hime' cut I see so many lolitas with, or keep it short in some other form of 'lolita' haircut. I have no problem with bangs, but blunt, heavy bangs look bad on me, so I instead sport wispy, soft bangs based on Miku's from An Cafe.
I guess what I am asking is, what lolita haircut would look good on me? Short? Long? A bob? The Hime? Here's a picture of me for reference.

Hi, I'm trying to contact a member here who owes Mai Ozawa a really large amount of money. Her LJ name is hiversky and Mai says this girl is also hosting a group order at the moment, so if anyone has joined her group order, please be cautious. Her payment was due about a month ago, and she hasn't heard from the girl since. She didn't even send a deposit. It's like she just ran off.
If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
Mai has helped a lot of us with her shopping service, and she doesn't deserve this.
I might not be able to reply or read comments later on, because I'm on a bad internet connection. But I'll give Mai the link to this thread. Hopefully someone has info on the girl, or hopefully she will see this and finally send the payment.

Hello, dear Lolitas!
I was delighted to see some EGLs at the last Dances of Vice party at the Montauk Club in April for the "dark Victorian" tribute to The Threepenny Opera, and wanted to introduce another Dances of Vice event (the DOV Festival II) coming up in August with an 18th and 19th Century theme - so you can definitely expect a lot of ruffles, lace, and fancy hats to appear at the event. I hope this event will attract some lovely Lolitas to attend and flaunt their dresses and style!
The festival will take place in New York from August 22-24th, and will include a fancy Victorian picnic on August 22nd at the NY Botanical Garden, plus live Baroque opera, harpsichord, dance art, fencing, plays, fashion shows, and headliners Voltaire, The Deadfly Ensemble, Fern Knight, and Desert Sin.
The festival will be all ages for the first two days, and limited 19+ for the last date. Tickets are available now through the Dances of Vice website, and may also be purchased at tonight's Dances of Vice event at the Montauk Club called "Shanghai Vice", which is a salute to 1920-30s Shanghai culture.
If you enjoyed the last DOV event at the lavish Montauk Club in April, I hope you'll join us tonight, as well!
